Swenam College is one of the very few private institutions that offers a range of awards and scholarships to both domestic and international students. New students applying to any program at Swenam College can apply for entrance awards, scholarships, and grants.
Existing students at the college may also be eligible to apply for continuing student awards. Award recipients are expected to serve as representatives for Swenam College and take part in outreach and alumni engagement activities. All awards will be disbursed in the form of a tuition credit. Upon completing the last course in this program, students can explore diverse career opportunities across various industries. However, each industry requires specific certifications, this program aims to support second language learners by removing barriers to English proficiency tests, enabling them to qualify for language assessments and pursue the necessary certifications for their chosen career paths.
The Delivery is done through:
- Distance education: 100% hours of instruction, excluding work experience hours, if applicable, delivered remotely from a BC location.
In-class instruction: 100% hours of instruction delivered in a classroom or other setting, where instructors share the same physical space as students.
- Combined delivery (both in-class and distance): Instruction provided through a combination of in-class and distance delivery.
Students will be offered two study options:
Full-time: the total duration of this program is 30 - 68 Weeks.
Part-time: the total duration of this program is 114 Weeks.
General Admission Requirements
This program is suitable for diverse applicants who have an interest in acquiring English as a second language and exploring secondary cultural aspects.
College Placement Process:
Prior to registration, each applicant must take the college’s placement test. Based on the test scores, applicants are assigned to different proficiency levels. These levels correspond to specific score ranges on standardized tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, and Duolingo.

To immerse learners in real-life language usage and deepen their understanding of the cultural context surrounding the language, this program incorporates a diverse array of authentic materials alongside designated textbooks. The utilization of authentic materials provides dynamic exposure to a range of language styles, registers, and dialects, while also offering opportunities for integrated language practice.
This program offers five different levels of English and second culture acquisition proficiency. Participants, in each level, are exposed to authentic learning opportunities where they can experience a verity of contexts and engage in practicing various language elements, including idioms, expressions, collocations, phonetics, and tones.
Each level within this program has its own distinct parameters and aims, carefully crafted to facilitate participants in achieving their respective objectives. The program's structure is thoughtfully devised to ensure alignment with the intended goals, fostering an environment conducive to navigate their learning journey and achieve their desired outcomes. To accomplish this goal, the program recognizes and respects various types of learners, including those who are visual, auditory, kinesthetic, prefer reading and writing, and thrive in social and interpersonal settings. It employs a wide array of teaching and learning techniques to cater to these diverse learning styles. Each level cultivates an enriching learning environment enhanced by captivating multimedia tools such as podcasts, videos, artwork, storytelling, field trips, literature, presentations, films, and written activities.
